What this site collects, and who else sees it.

Who's responsible

Catkin Labs is responsible for anything you send through this site and decides what happens to it. Questions about it go to hello@catkinlabs.com.

The contact form

When you send the form, Catkin Labs gets your name, your email address, your business name if you give one, and your message. They're used to reply to you and to talk about the work.

Resend delivers the message to the Catkin Labs inbox, and a copy is saved to a private Google Sheet. Ask and both will be deleted.

Google Analytics hears that a form was sent. It gets whether you named a business, how long the message was, and whether you wrote from a personal address like Gmail or a work one. It never sees what you wrote or who you are.

Analytics

The site uses Google Analytics 4 to count visits. It shows Catkin Labs which pages people read, how they found the site, roughly where they are, and what device they use. GA4 doesn't log or store IP addresses.

It sets two cookies that last up to two years: _ga and _ga_9C9DKGPGEE. Google keeps the data for 14 months. Catkin Labs doesn't use it for ads.

If you're in Europe or the UK, it stays off until you allow it. Everywhere else it's on until you switch it off. You can change your answer here at any time.

Other storage

A cookie called ask_consent records whether the site needs to ask you about analytics. It lasts until you close the browser. Your answer is kept in your browser's local storage, under the name consent. Neither one tracks you.

Who else handles it

Vercel hosts the site and keeps short-lived server logs, which include IP addresses. Resend delivers form messages. Google runs Analytics and stores the sheet of form messages. All three are US companies, so your data may be processed in the US, under each company's data processing terms.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of the data Catkin Labs holds about you. You can also have it corrected or deleted, or object to how it's used. Email hello@catkinlabs.com and you'll get an answer within a month.

In the UK or the EU, you can also complain to your data protection authority. In the UK that's the ICO.

Changes

If any of this changes, Catkin Labs will update this page and the date at the top.
